Born in Detroit, William Wells is a graduate of Hamilton College with a degree in English literature. He served aboard a Navy destroyer and as a Navy journalist and worked as a newspaper staff writer, marketing agency executive, and owner of The Wells Group, a custom publishing company. He also was the writer of an internationally syndicated comic strip. He now lives on the Florida Gulf Coast.

Ride Away Home is a novel about one family's tragedy and ultimate redemption as Jack and Jenna Tanner of Edina, Minnesota, struggle to cope with the murder of their daughter, Hope, while she was a student at the University of Wisconsin.
